Breaking Into The Writers Room
November 1, 2008
Have you always had an interest in TV writing or want to break into the business and just don't know where to begin?
In this seminar, you will work with a screenwriter who went from an unpaid intern to a credited primetime writer in just three years. You can do it too!
Whether you are in film school about to graduate and move out to Los Angeles or New York, or are contemplating how much work getting into TV writing would entail, this insider's advice, tips, and firsthand experience is invaluable. Learn where to start, how to make contacts, who to call, and most importantly, what NOT to do. We will go from "where to begin" to what "the writers room" is all about.
You also have the option to combine this class with simultaneous one on one writing instruction. You set your skill level, pace, and tell the instructor what you need help with.
This class requires a 4 week commitment at your own pace. The first week we will examine career goals, realistic time frames, and critique your resume. The entire scope of this class will cover weekly written lectures, individualized advice and guidance, and the ability for one on one questions and answers with instructor regarding career placement and writing samples.
